Mac & Tosh (Macintosh-get it?)
American Domestic Long Hair Mix (DLH)
Young • Male • Long Fur• BONDED BROTHER PAIR
Mac & Tosh were born at Mew Haven when we took in their abandoned and very pregnant momma cat named Mia along with Mia's sister Mya. Mia gave birth to a healthy litter of four kittens a week after coming into rescue, the kittens were born on September 22, 2016 - Mac & Tosh, Chaz and Roxie. They are now close to adoption age after they have their neuter surgery this month (Feb. 2017) and they will be ready for their furever home shortly after that. They are younger looking in the photos but have not changed much other than getting bigger. We hope to have their new portraits done shortly and will update and add them to the photo gallery as they are even MORE GORGEOUS in person being a bit bigger...but don't let them stop you from applying to adopt them now!
Mac & Tosh received their names early on as tiny kittens after showing interest in the computer screen/keyboard and what their foster mom was doing with it...they were captivated by the computer screen!
Mac & Tosh are wonderful bonded brothers that play together all day, sleep and eat together and they have been that close since birth. Their foster mom has had a very difficult time telling them apart as they are nearly identical but now that they are growing up we can finally see some differences in their face. Tosh has a more slender face with a longer pointed nose profile.
Their foster mom writes the following below about them:
One of the boys has a slightly grayer back (Mac?) than the other, whose is closer to black (Tosh?). I think Tosh is the one with the spot over the eyes, with stripes and not much of a M while Mac has more of the classic M on his forehead. They won't stay still long enough for me to take it all it!
I thought Tosh had a more angular face or less ruff, but now I'm not certain of that! Both have handsome faces, golden eyes, with sweet natures. They are playful and active as befits a kitten. They will curl up with me at night or with one of the more accepting adult cats. (After the usual bedtime galloping play time.) I think Mac is the one that is a little more independent than Tosh.
They will play with anything and use the cardboard scratchers and scratching posts. They play with each other and the two short haired siblings of theirs, Chaz and Roxie. Roxie, the smallest, will start fights but yells like crazy during it. Mac & Tosh also play with Momma Mia, who has been an excellent mother with a calm temperament. Now that they are bigger, their aunt, Mia's sister, Mya, plays with them as well.
Mac & Tosh are excellent clean litter pan testers, by the way. If I can get the entire pan clean before they have tried it out, I'm lucky. They have used the Tidy Cat "Breeze" litter system, but they also use clumping litter and Marth wood pellets.
Mac & Tosh have good appetites and have had dry Royal Canin Kitten Development, NutriSource Kitten and Cat. As far as wet canned food - they have had mostly the Royal Canin Kitten Development growing up but have also been introduced to Fancy Feast.
Regarding toys, they adore those little multicolored springs & they ADORE catnip & Temptations treats. They will also LOVE to play with you with a feather wand or laser pointer!
These boys are a delight to be around. They are beautiful colorful POUFFY long hair kitties - their coats as soft as bunny fur!. They are active & playful much of the time but love being petted & held and to both be your companion. There is no doubt whatsoever that they MUST be adopted together. They are bonded like glue!
Please consider adopting this GORGEOUS brother pair today!
Mac and Tosh are fostered at one of our foster homes in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
